Day 12 - Dishwasher and Bathroom Cupboards

Dishwasher Day!! Today was a relatively easy day { as far as the challenge was concerned }.

Jman has now had a fever and been poorly for 5 days with a stupid virus, so he has been my main priority. I hate Winter and all it's bloody germs!!!

My Poor baby - Jman feels poorly

However I did get it done!!!

Here is the evidence!

Jug of Vinegar

1 and a half cups as Kat suggests

Eco Wash!

The sprinkling of the bi-carb! Jman helped :)

It was also bed sheets day on my washing routine, and some catching up to do as I might have accidentally forgotten to hang some washing out, that needed re-washing............

I got it ALL DONE! Washed, hung out to dry, folded and put away, and new sheets on the beds!! Go me!! The kids toddler bed/cot sized sheets were nearly dry when I needed the line space to hang out the sheets from my bed... I took them off, and hung my sheets on the line (it was a gorgeous day).

Instead of just chucking them (the toddler/cot linen) into the dryer to finish them off, or hanging them on the clothes horse, I ironed them dry!!  Yes, you read correctly, I.R.O.N.E.D! { please excuse me while I go and pick my mother up off the floor } Even Boo got off the school bus and put his hand to my forehead to make sure I was feeling alright! He said I felt a bit warm HAHA

So Tomorrow { day 13 } we're going to clean the cornices and de-clutter and organise the kids' artwork! { printable }

I have been using a cobweb brush to dust and de-web the cornices as I've cleaned each room, so I will do a quick run around up and down the hallways, and into rooms I've not tackled yet, and check over the rooms that I have already done, to grab the web's I've missed!

On that note, I'm off to bed, as I'm starting to feel blah, with a sore throat etc - I REALLY hope I'm not getting sick again! Hit me with all you're immune defence/strengthening remedies in the comments below - or on my Facebook page { The Developing Housewife }.

Before I say goodnight, I want to share a couple photos of Mr Magoo, who was such a sweetheart today, and was just happy to do his own thing....

Sitting in his Reading Corner with all his Teddies

Bless......

He loves his books, and loves to make up his own stories to the pictures!

Very rarely do I ever understand what he's saying, unless he's naming specific things in the book like, Car, Truck, Bus etc (he loves car books)

Such a sweetheart! Reading to his Teddies.

OK - Talk to you tomorrow night.... Enjoy the sunshine!

Day 2 (and links to Day 3)

Another BIG day here and I am exhausted!!

I had a bout of nausea last night and couldn't sleep... But I am determined to make this new routine stick, and was up and in the shower at 6:30 this morning!! I'm feeling it again now, so fingers crossed I will get a good sleep tonight and be back to myself again tomorrow.

Here is a photo of my to-do list, on the go. This was taken when I stopped for Lunch :)

My To-do List, haha @ nook... I didn't know what else to call it!

Before I start with the before and afters I want to say - I hate cleaning my room!!!

I have pretty much lived in my room recently, as I was sick in bed for 3 weeks, however, it was not tidy before that! Oh, and the part I hate most is putting my clothes away!! So it sat on the blanket box, piling up and up and up until it cascaded onto the floor!

I pulled out of my room:

  • A FULL to overflowing laundry hamper of washing
  • a garbage bag of clothes etc to donate
  • and 4 plastic bags of rubbish!
I know Kat said not to worry about sorting through our  clothes (she has that set aside for another day), but I decided (as I was putting away my clothes), that if I wasn't going to wear it again, I wasn't going to put it in my drawer! They are now stuffed full! And now that everything has been put away, I wont be able to find it {lol}

Ok so here is what you have all been waiting for! My before photo - My EXTREMELY untidy bedroom...

Before - Standing at the door
What you can't see, is the floor on the other side of the bed - {phew}

Before - Standing at Bedside Table

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

No wonder I woke up feeling like cak every morning! By cak I mean, tired, overwhelmed and unmotivated!

If it weren't for this challenge - it would still be like that! I sooooooo did not want to do it..... Thank you Mr Mister for helping out, and keeping me motivated, in between your jobs xxx

I draaaaaaaaaaagged my feet this challenge, and it took for what seemed like an eternity, and took me a little while to get motivated again after lunch. All I wanted to do was have a nap, but once I had started and was going, I zipped through the last of it! I got everything done before the boys got home from school, all but my bed as I was waiting for the sheets on the line (along with my cushions) to dry.

I had just finished bragging to a friend that I was almost done when it started raining!! I haven't run that  fast in ages! In my rush to get them off the line, cushions jumped out of the basket, the line was spinning round I almost went ass up!! In the end I just yanked the pillow cases off the line - pegs and all! Was a huge comedy of errors!

I broke a nail :'(
Stoopid Leccy Blankie

Lets get dusting!
OK, now time for the pretty After Photos! Dum, da-da-dum, da-da-daaaaaaa........

After - Purdy

Moved Furniture and put up a shelf!
My bedside table
Must get a photo for that frame :)

Oh the nook!! I almost forgot about the nook! The nook {no idea what else to call it - if you know what its called please let me know} was a dumping ground for stuff! There was stuff there I forgot I had, and something I had been trying to find for aaaaaaaages! I will show you what I mean, by 'nook'...

Before
This is my 'nook' before! Not that you can tell :/

After
And this is it after! Now I might be able to actually USE the Mirror. Shock Horror! So, does anyone know if there is a technical term for my nook? Or do you think nook would suffice? Please leave me a comment below!

Tomorrow, Day 3, is to clean and tidy the Laundry! Kat has loads of ideas for organising tips for your laundry, how to set up a laundry routine and finding time to fold {you mean there is such a thing??}.
As usual there is a printable To-Do List to keep us motivated.

This is going to be a big job for me tomorrow - as I wont have as much time to complete it in {Miss Tilly has dance class} and I need to find my surfaces and floor before I can clean them...... That and I have a MASSIVE amount of washing to do now...... I know I will love the look of my laundry when its done tomorrow! I have been wanting to tackle it for ages!!!!

I hope you all have a great day! Talk to you tomorrow night,

Meegs xx
